Today’s featured tech tip….
Q&A: How do you disable Marketplace notifications on Facebook?
Question from Paul: My wife buys and sells items from Facebook’s Marketplace all the time, but the notifications they send to her phone really annoy her.
She doesn’t really need the notifications because she manually checks the marketplace several times a day.
How do you turn those notifications off?
Rick’s answer: Your wife can easily disable all those annoying Marketplace notifications, Paul. Tell her to do the following:
1 – Open the Facebook app and sign into her account.
2 – Tap her profile photo avatar on the top menu bar.
3 – Tap Settings & privacy.
4 – Tap Settings.
5 – Tap Notifications.
6 – Scroll down and tap Marketplace.
7 – Toggle the “Allow notifications on Facebook” setting to Off.
That’s all there is to it. Once your wife has successfully made this settings change she will no longer receive any notifications related to Facebook marketplace.
By the way, notifications for all manner of other Facebook services, events, etc. can be disabled the same way. Just scroll through the list of notification types and disable the ones you don’t want to receive.
