Today’s featured tech tip….
How to force Edge to open new tabs without the News stories
If you use Microsoft’s Edge browser you’ve surely noticed how new tabs always open with a bunch a News stories displayed inside the tab.
Some folks really like that, but others (myself included) would prefer having new tabs open cleanly without a bunch of distracting clutter fighting for their attention.
If you fall into the second group you can easily tell Edge to skip the News stories and just open a nice, clean blank tab every time. Here’s how:
1 – Open your Edge browser and click the + (plus sign) at the very top of the page to open a new tab.
2 – Click the “gear” icon in the top-right corner of the tab window.
3 – Scroll down to the bottom of the “Page settings” menu and change the “Content” field from “Content visible” to Content off.
That’s all there is to it. From now on new tabs in Edge will open with a nice, clean look without all the distracting News stories.
