Today’s featured tech tip….
(Corrected) Select the entire URL in Chrome’s address bar with one keystroke
I posted this tip in yesterday’s newsletter and several readers wrote in to let me know that I had left off the part about having to press and hold the Shift key while pressing F6 on some systems. I have corrected the original tip below to reflect the actual key combination….
Have you ever tried to highlight a long URL in Chrome’s address bar only to end up highlighting part of the URL and leave the rest of the URL untouched?
Well, there’s an easy way to quickly highlight the entire URL all at once…
Either press the F6 key by itself or hold the Shift key while also pressing the F6 key, whichever method works on your system.
This method is fast and easy, and it eliminates the need to ‘experiment’ with the mouse in an effort to find just the right kind of click to get everything highlighted.
Just press either F6 or Shift+F6 key combination while using Chrome and it’ll highlight the entire URL in one fell swoop so you can copy it to the Clipboard.
