Today’s featured tech tip….
How to quickly count the words in a Notepad document
If you use the Windows Notepad app you surely know how handy it is. And you also probably know it’s pretty light on features (which in my mind is actually a plus).
One missing Notepad feature that would be really nice to have is a word counter.
Well, I’m going to tell you how to quickly “count” the number of words in any Notepad document, regardless of its length…
1 – Select all the text in the document by pressing the Ctrl+A key combination.
2 – Right-click on the highlighted text and click Copy.
3 – Paste the copied text into the text box at https://wordcounter.io/.
You should now see the number of words in the document displayed in the top-left corner of the text box.
That’s all there is to it. You now know a fast and easy way to count the number of words in any Notepad document.
Bonus top #1: You can use this tool to quickly count the number of words in any document, not just Notepad documents. If you can copy a body of text to the Clipboard you can use this tool to quickly get the word count.
Bonus tip #2: Bookmark the WordCounter.io web page and you’ll always be able to access with just a click or two.
