Today’s featured tech tip….
How to connect an older desktop PC to WiFi
If you have an older Windows PC that doesn’t have a wireless networking adapter installed you might be wondering if it’s possible to somehow connect it to your WiFi network.
Well, the answer is yes, and as luck would have it there’s an incredibly easy and inexpensive solution…
Simply plug an inexpensive USB WiFi adapter into the machine and you’ll be all set.
These devices are plug-n-play so Windows will typically handle the software setup for you. Just plug the device into an open USB port and you’ll be all set.
And by the way, this is also an excellent way to easily restore WiFi capability to a laptop or desktop PC that has a defective wireless networking adapter.
Don’t worry about the new adapter conflicting with the old one, because it won’t. Again, simply connect it to an open USB port and you’ll be connected via WiFi in no time flat.
You’ll find these adapters most anywhere that computer gear is sold. I’ve had great luck with this one, but really any quality USB WiFi adapter should work just fine for you.
