Today’s quick tech tip….
Quickly find out if a used phone has been reported stolen
Lots of folks never buy new phones. Instead, they look for great deals on used ones.
Truth be told, if you know what you’re doing you really can save some big bucks on the most popular models by buying used instead of new.
On the other hand, opting for a used phone can be risky if you don’t do a little detective work to find out if it has been reported stolen.
If you let this step slide you could well end up paying hundreds of dollars for a phone that no carrier would connect to their mobile network. In other words, you could end up “saving money” by buying a Phone that you’ll never be able to use.
To make things easy, the Wireless industry has pooled their resources to create a handy online Stolen Phone Checker tool that you can use to see if a phone you’re thinking about buying has been reported stolen.
This tool couldn’t be easier to use. Simply visit the Stolen Phone Checker website and enter the phone’s IMEI, MEID, or ESN number into the Search box.
