Today’s quick tech tip….
How to find out whether your PC has Windows 11 Home or Pro on it
If you have a PC running Windows 11, do you know whether it’s Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro?
For most users the answer is probably Windows 11 Home, but many PCs purchased online actually come with the Pro edition.
Does it really matter whether you have Home or Pro?
Well, truth be told, most folks can’t even tell the difference between the two, and that’s fine. When used in typical fashion, they both look and work exactly the same.
But that being said, there might come a time when you’ll need to know which Windows edition is on your PC.
For example, many of the Windows tips and tutorials found online will only work with the Pro edition.
Others will work with either edition but the steps required to complete the task(s) at hand will vary greatly depending on which edition you actually have.
That’s why it pays to know whether your Windows installation is Home or Pro, even if you never end up in a situation where it matters.
Here’s how to quickly determine whether your Windows 11 edition is Home or Pro:
1 – Right-click the Start button and select Settings from the menu.
2 – Make sure the System tab is selected in the left-hand pane, then over on the right scroll down to the bottom and click About.
3 – Find the “Windows specifications” section and you’ll see the Windows edition listed there.
