Today’s quick tech tip….
Teaching kids how to use technology safely
It’s a simple fact that most kids today are comfortable using smartphones, computers and all the latest gadgets. It just seems to come natural to them.
But here’s the thing…
Regardless of how tech-wise your child might be in regards to knowing how to use technology, they might not have a thorough understanding of how to use it safely.
For example, do they know to avoid “bad neighborhoods” on the Internet?
Do they know to never give out their personal details, phone number or physical location to strangers?
Unfortunately, youngsters tend to trust the people they interact with online, especially if they believe they’re talking to another youngster.
That’s why it’s so important to teach them to be skeptical of everything they see and hear online.
Anyone can fall for an Internet scammer, even intelligent, well-meaning adults. All the proof you need is on the nightly newscasts.
Teach your children what to look out for online so they can stay safe while enjoying all the positive things that technology has to offer.
