Today’s quick tech tip….
How to completely hide your email address on LinkedIn
If you have a LinkedIn account, by default only your direct connections are allowed to see your email address.
Sounds pretty good from a privacy standpoint, right? Well, truth be told, it isn’t.
Why? Because your email address could also be visible to some of the apps your connections use, and that could lead to all kinds of privacy and SPAM-related nightmares.
If you value your online privacy, I recommend that you go into your LinkedIn settings and change the email visibility setting to Only visible to me.
This settings change is very easy to make, but the steps required to do it vary depending on what type of device you use to access LinkedIn.
Luckily, LinkedIn has supplied step-by-step instructions for all the major device types. You’ll find them right here.
