How to stream live radio stations on your Linux PC
These days most radio stations stream their live broadcasts over the Internet. I received a message from a reader this morning asking about the best way to listen to live radio on a Linux PC.
Well there are actually two ways to do it:
1 – Visit the radio station’s website and click the “Listen Live” button (or similar).
2 – Listen via a good music player app.
Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages, but the one I use most often is number 1. I can almost always find a radio station’s website in seconds thanks to Google, and that just seems like the most efficient method for me.
That being said, plenty of other folks prefer listening via a music app. If you happen to be one of them you can simply use the awesome Rhythmbox music player that comes pre-installed on all major Linux distros these days.
Just open the Rythmbox app and add the station(s) you want to listen to.
