Today’s quick tech tip….
Why you should hold on to your unused AC adapters
If you’re like most folks these days you probably have a box or drawer full of old AC adapters that you accumulated over the years as the gadgets they came with went bad or became obsolete.
You know the ones I’m talking about. The little square or rectangular plastic boxes that plug into a wall outlet with a cord attached to it.
This little gems are used to convert 120 volts AC to a low DC voltage to power gadgets of all different kinds.
Well, those adapters can come in handy at times when you need to replace one that’s gone bad or got lost or stolen.
As long as the voltage and current supplied by the adapter and the connector on the end match up well with the device, you can use most any AC-DC adapter to power inexpensive devices and small appliances.
And on rare occasions they can be used to power gadgets that didn’t even come with an adapter.
The gadget in this short video I made a while back is a great example.
Bottom line: You never know when an unused AC adapter might come in handy so I recommend that you hold on to them instead of trashing them.
They don’t take up a lot of room, so why not?
