How to use your phone as a metal detector
Did you know that you can use your iPhone or Android smartphone as a metal detector?
Well, you can, and all you need to do is install a simple app on it.
The apps I prefer for iPhone and Android are both called Metal Detector, but they are made by different companies.
You can download the iPhone Metal Detector app from here. If you’re an Android user go here.
To be sure, you’re not going to find any buried treasure that’s lurking several inches below ground with these apps, but they work great for finding a ring, a screw or some other metallic item that was accidentally dropped into tall grass.
