Today’s quick tech tip….
Which is better, WiFi or Wired Ethernet?
I’m frequently asked whether it’s better to connect a computer to a network via WiFi or a wired Ethernet connection, and my answer is always the same: It depends.
If it’s convenient to do so, I believe it’s best to use a wired Ethernet connection simply because wired connections are typically faster, more stable and more secure than WiFi connections.
Truth be told, the only times I use WiFi are when I’m someplace where there’s no convenient wired connection available. And yes, that includes when I’m using a laptop.
The latest from Rick’s Daily Tips Tech Blog…
• Warning: It’s impossible to prevent your photos from being stolen on Facebook
While strict privacy settings can help, there is no setting (except for ‘Only Me’) that can completely ensure that the photos you post on Facebook won’t get stolen.
• Q&A: Can I delete a conversation in Messenger without opening it first?
The answer is yes. This post explains how.
