Today’s quick tech tip….
How to make an embedded YouTube video start at a specific point
If you embed YouTube videos on your blog or website there might be times when you’d like to have a video start playing at a specific time instead of at the beginning.
For example, let’s say you want a video of a baseball player taking his turn at bat to begin playing right before he hits a home run over the left-field wall while skipping the two swings and misses he took right before knocking it out of the park.
I’m sure you get the gist of what I’m talking about.
Luckily, this is very easy to do. Just follow the steps below:
1 – Find a YouTube video that you want to embed and start watching it.
2 – Pause the video at the exact point at which you’d like the embedded video to being playing.
3 – Select Share from the menu bar, then select Embed.
4 – Check the box beside Start at [time].
5 – Click on the embed code block to select it, then click Copy.
6 – Paste the embed code into your blog post or web page at the location where you want it to show up on the page.
That’s all there is to it. After your post or page has been published the video will begin playing at the designated starting point every time someone clicks on it to play it.
