New LastPass hack highlights the dangers of password managers
Regular readers of my blogs and newsletter know I’m not a fan of password managers, for one simple reason…
They put your entire digital life at risk.
I have written several posts outlining the dangers of password managers, and now we have yet another real-world example.
LastPass has confirmed yet another hack and data breach, this one having taken place a couple of weeks ago when hackers managed to gain access to their system via a compromised developer account.
According to the company, the hackers broke into LastPass’ servers and stole portions of their proprietary source code.
Luckily, it appears that no customer data or stored passwords were compromised as a result of this latest breach, meaning LastPass’ customers dodged a bullet this time around.
But how about the next time?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Using ANY password manager puts your entire digital life at risk.
