Today’s quick tech tip….
How to hide a photo in your iPhone’s Photos app
If you take lots of photos with your iPhone you’ve probably taken a few that you’d rather not have just anyone seeing.
I’m not talking about anything untoward here, just photos of your kids or most anything that you want to only share with family and close friends.
As you probably know, it’s easy for someone to see any and all of your photos while you’re searching for one that you do want them to see.
Luckily, it’s very easy to hide a photo from the Photos app’s Library. Just follow the steps below:
1 – Open the Photos app.
2 – Find a photo you’d like to hide, then tap the Share icon at the bottom (it looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards).
3 – Scroll down and tap Hide.
That’s all there is to it. That photo will no longer show up in your the Photos app’s Library.
You can still view your hidden photos at any time. Just tap on the Albums tab and open the Hidden album.
And now, I must mention one caveat…
Hiding photos in the Photos app won’t prevent someone from finding them if they have control of your phone. All they’ll have to do is navigate to the “Hidden” album the same way you do.
Therefore you should always make sure you maintain control of your phone even when you hand it to someone else.
All hiding a photo really does is prevent it from showing up in the Photos app’s Library, but if all you do is occasionally show someone a photo or two that should be more than sufficient.
