Today’s quick tech tip….
Q&A: Can I make Safari always open in a Private window
Question from Carol: Is there a way to make Safari always open in a Private window on my Mac?
I always use a Private window and I’d love to be able to avoid having to manually open one every time I use Safari.
Rick’s answer: There sure is, Carol. And it’s very easy to do. Just follow these steps:
1 – Open Safari on your Mac.
2 – On the menu bar, select Safari>Preferences.
3 – Select the General tab.
4 – Change the “Safari opens with” setting to A new private window.
5 – Close Safari and then reopen it.
That’s all there is to it. Safari should now be open with a Private window, and it should open that way every time you launch the browser (unless you reverse the change you made above).
