Today’s quick tech tip….
Create a Recovery Flash Drive for your Chromebook
Like other computers, your Chromebook’s Chrome OS operating system can get corrupted, causing problems ranging all the way from an occasional irritating glitch to a complete boot failure.
When problems arise with your Chromebook it helps to have a Recovery Flash Drive on hand so you can quickly and easily reset the machine by removing the existing Chrome OS installation and reinstalling a fresh copy in its place.
It’s actually pretty easy to create a Recovery Flash Drive for your Chromebook. Just get yourself a regular USB flash drive with at least 8GB of storage on it and follow the steps listed on this page.
Once you have the Recovery Flash Drive on hand you can store it in a safe place where it’ll be ready and waiting for you if you ever need to reset your machine.
The same page I linked to above has instructions for using the Recovery Flash Drive to reset your machine.
Bonus tip: If you’ll get into the habit of keeping your files backed up you won’t even lose any of your files due to the reset procedure.
