Today’s Quick Tip….
How to disable ‘People You May Know’ on Facebook
If you use Facebook you’re probably used to seeing the Friend Suggestions that Facebook has for you pop up in the “People You May Know” section.
Some folks enjoy looking through those suggestions to see if there’s anyone they’d like to reconnect with listed there, but plenty of others would rather not see them at all.
If you’d like to ditch the “People You May Know” friend suggestions you can easily do so. Simply follow the steps below for the device you’re using.
If you use Facebook in a browser on a laptop or desktop computer:
1 – Open Facebook and click your tiny profile photo avatar on the far-right side of the top menu bar.
2 – Click Settings & privacy.
3 – Click Settings.
4 – In the left-hand column, click Notifications.
5 – Scroll down and click People You May Know.
6 – Toggle the “Allow Notifications on Facebook” setting to Off.
If you use the Facebook app on a mobile device:
1 – Open the Facebook app and tap on your tiny profile photo avatar in the corner of the screen.
2 – Tap Settings & Privacy.
3 – Tap Settings.
4 – Scroll down and tap Notifications.
5 – Tap People You May Know.
6 – Toggle the “Allow Notifications on Facebook” setting to Off.
That’s all there is to it. You should no longer see those Friend Suggestions pop up on your Facebook Newsfeed.
