Does anyone besides me lie in bed at night and ponder the amazing wisdom of our elected leaders and their appointed helpers?
In case you haven’t heard, the powers that be in Washington decided that since there is currently no funding for the USDA, the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (Noah) and other “non-essential” government departments, their websites would need to be shut off.
The only problem with this thinking? It cost those departments more to take their sites offline than it would have cost to simply leave them up with all updates temporarily suspended!
Why is that you say? Because it would cost virtually nothing extra to simply leave the sites up and running, but they had to pay someone big bucks to take them offline and create temporary pages explaining why the sites are down. And when the government is finally back up and running, they’ll have to pay someone to remove the temporary pages and bring the sites back online!
By the time you read this the government sites that were taken offline might be back up, but as of this writing this is what you would see if you were to visit Noah.gov:
Is it any wonder that our country is trillions of dollars in debt? I’m not out to cast blame here in the political sense (I’m sure we all have our own opinions about which political party’s really at fault), only point out the silliness of our elected leaders as a group.
