Today’s Quick Tip….
Are you doxxing yourself on social media?
If you’ve been following the news in recent years you’ve probably heard about celebrities, politicians and other well-known people who were doxxed online.
If you’re not familiar with that term, doxxing is posting someone’s street address, phone number and (sometimes) other personal information online with the intention of getting that person stalked, harassed or otherwise attacked by people who wish to do them harm.
In short, doxxing someone can (and often does) cause lots of problems for that person and their family.
The thing is, plenty of folks are doxxing actually themselves right this very minute, and they don’t even realize they’re doing it.
Think about this…
Nothing on the Internet is private, and that includes your social media accounts.
If your street address, phone number, email address, birth date and other sensitive information is visible on your profile page then it’s potentially visible to anyone and everyone on the Internet – even if you keep your privacy level set to “Friends”.
Bottom line: It’s always best to assume that anything and everything you post anywhere on the Internet can potentially be seen by any other Internet user, and that definitely includes your social media profiles.
And unfortunately, if the wrong person manages to get your private info they will surely use it for a malicious purpose.
That’s why I recommend that you go through all of your social media profiles and either remove as much personal information as possible or set its privacy level to “Only Me”.

Rick’s Daily Pick…
Unitek USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station (#ad)
This little gem makes using a bare 2.5″ and/or 3.5″ hard drive (or SSD) as an external USB drive as easy as plugging the drive(s) into an open bay.
Want to clone the contents of one drive onto another drive? That’s just as easy. Simply plug both drives into the docking station and press the Clone button.
Today’s post from ‘My Daily Smile’…
Guess what? Many “Healthy Meals” aren’t really healthy at all.
Just because the label on a food package says (or suggests) that it’s healthy, that doesn’t mean it actually is. This post explains how to avoid being fooled by misleading wording on food packages.
