Today’s Quick Tip….
How to remotely sign out of Google on a lost or stolen device
Chances are you use at least one Google service (Gmail, Google Photos, Google Drive, etc.).
If so, you might be in the habit of staying signed into your Google account on all of your devices so you can quickly use one of their services when you need to without having to sign in every time.
The thing is, if you ever lose one of your devices or have one stolen, whoever ends up with the missing device will have immediate and total access to your Google account and all of your Google services.
That’s why it pays to always know how to quickly sign out of your Google account on the missing device using a remote laptop or desktop computer (unfortunately, you can’t do it on a mobile device).
This is actually pretty easy to do. Just follow the steps below:
1 – Open a web browser and visit Google.com.
2 – Click on your profile thumbnail photo in the top-right corner of the Google window.
3 – Click Manage your Google account.
4 – In the left-hand column, click Security.
5 – Scroll down to the “Your devices” section and click the Manage all devices link. You should now see all the devices you are currently logged into Google with displayed on the screen.
6 – Click on the device that was lost or stolen, then click the Sign out button.
That’s all there is to it. You should now be signed out of your Google account on the missing device.
