Today’s Quick Tip….
How to factory reset an Amazon Fire tablet
If you own one of Amazon’s Fire tablets there might well come a day when you’ll need to perform a factory reset on the device.
There are several situations in which a factory reset might be desirable.
For example, if the device starts acting erratically one of the surest fixes is to simply reset everything back to the factory defaults.
And if you ever want to sell the tablet or give it away, a factory reset will erase all of your data from the device and allow you to hand it over to the new owner in the same condition it was in when it came from the factory.
It’s actually very easy to perform a factory reset on any Amazon Fire tablet. Just follow these steps:
1 – Tap the Settings icon (it looks like a “gear” or “cog“).
2 – Scroll down and tap Device Options.
3 – Tap Reset to Factory Defaults.
That’s all there is to it. After the reset is complete the device will no longer contain any of your personal information or user-installed apps and it will no longer be linked to your Amazon account.
