Today’s Quick Tip….
How to disable the touchscreen on your Windows PC
As you probably know, many recent Windows laptops and desktop PCs now come with touchscreens.
Personally, I’m not a fan of touchscreens on computers since I prefer using the keyboard and mouse, but plenty of other Windows users absolutely love them.
If you happen to be in the “I hate touchscreens” camp, you can easily disable the touchscreen on your Windows PC to prevent accidental “touch-clicks” and swipes. Here’s how:
1 – Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager from the menu.
2 – Find the “Human Interface Devices” line and click the arrow beside it to expand that branch of the device tree.
3 – Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen, then click Disable device.
4 – Click the Yes button in the confirmation dialog box to confirm that you really want to disable the touchscreen.
That’s all there is to it. You have just disabled your Windows PC’s touchscreen.
Note: If you ever decide you want to re-enable the touchscreen simply repeat the steps above and click Enable device in step 3.
