Today’s Quick Tip….
The key to your next hotel room just might be your iPhone
Have you ever left your hotel room only to realize later that you forgot to take along your room key (or card)?
Or perhaps you might have even lost the key?
If this has never happened to you, it probably will at some point if you do a lot of traveling.
But guess what? It won’t be long before you’ll be able to skip the hotel key altogether and unlock your room with your iPhone.
Trust me, this is coming. In fact, it’s already here if you prefer staying at certain Hyatt hotels.
This promises to be the ultimate in convenience, especially for frequent travelers. Since you always have your phone with you, that means you’ll always have your hotel “key” with you as well.
And this convenience isn’t limited just to your room. You’ll also be able to use your iPhone to unlock the door to the pool, the gym and any other area that must be accessed with a room key.
As I said above, right now this only applies to a small number of Hyatt hotels, but I expect it to spread to other major chains soon, and eventually to smaller chains and independent hotels.
This will be a boon for the hotels as well since they won’t have to keep as many room keys on hand.

SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD (#ad)
What’s better than a really good external USB hard drive for storing backups and moving files?
A really good external USB SSD, of course. And this is one of the best around for the money.
Today’s post from ‘My Daily Smile’…
Video: Scammer wishes he had never messed with this 73 year old grandma
Scammers love to target people who are a little older because they see them as easier marks. In this case that turned out to be a huge mistake.
Tech news that caught my eye…
• The new Moto Edge+ wants to be a more affordable Galaxy Note
• Canceling an online subscription shouldn’t be a nightmare
• Apple could soon fix Face ID issues without replacing the entire iPhone
• Reddit’s new tab wants to make discovering content easier
• Meta wants to build a universal language translator
