Today’s Quick Tip….
How to transfer your files to a new PC
When you get a new Windows PC one of the first tasks you’ll need to accomplish is transferring your photos and other user-created files from the old machine to the new one.
There are several ways to do this, but I prefer moving the files manually using an external USB hard drive. This is the way I do it:
1 – Connect an external USB hard drive to the old PC and press the Windows+E key combination to open a File Explorer window.
2 – Double-click on the icon for the external drive to open it in the File Explorer window you just launched. We’ll refer to the external drive as the Destination drive.
3 – Press the Windows+E key combination to open a second File Explorer window and navigate to the first folder on the internal hard drive that contains files you want to transfer to the new PC. We’ll refer to the internal drive as the Source drive.
4 – Click on the folder containing the files you want to transfer and drag it from the Source drive to the Destination drive.
5 – Repeat the steps above until you have copied all the folders containing files you want to transfer onto the external drive.
6 – Connect the external drive to the new PC and open it in a File Explorer window.
7 – Open the new PC’s internal drive in a second File Explorer window and drag all the folders you copied onto the external drive onto the PC’s internal drive.
That’s all there is to it. You should now have copies of all the files you retrieved from the old PC on the new PC.

Amazon Basics 8-Sheet Capacity Cross-Cut Shredder (#ad)
With all the identity theft and other forms of fraud taking place these days, chances are you take great care to protect your private information online.
That’s great, but did you know it’s just as important to prevent your sensitive paper documents from falling into the wrong hands as well?
A good shredder will destroy unused pre-approved credit card offers, bank statements and other sensitive documents to prevent thieves and scammers from intercepting them after you’ve thrown them into the garbage.
The good news is you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg on a shredder to get a good one like the one featured here.
