Today’s Quick Tip….
How to give a post an expiration date in WordPress
Do you ever publish temporary posts (or pages) on your blog? You know, things like notices of specials you’re running and such?
If so, chances are you occasionally forget to take them down in a timely manner, resulting in confusion among your readers/customers.
Well, there’s a fantastic free plugin that can help ensure that you never leave another post up after it’s deadline has been reached.
It’s called Post Expirator, and it works like a charm.
Simply install and activate the plugin and you’ll immediately have a new option in your WordPress Dashboard for assigning an expiration date to any post or page.
Once that date arrives the post will automatically switch from ‘Published’ mode to ‘Draft’ mode, after which you can update the post and republish it, keep it as a draft for later use, or simply delete it.
Either way, the post will no longer be available on your blog after the expiration date arrives.
You can read more about the ‘Post Expirator’ plugin right here.
