Today’s Quick Tip….
Caution: Your iPhone 12 could be a health risk.
Yesterday I received a message from a reader asking if it’s dangerous for someone with a pacemaker to use an iPhone 12, and the answer might surprise you.
According to Apple, certain components inside the iPhone 12 could indeed interfere with the proper operation of both implanted pacemakers and defibrillators.
What’s more, although the iPhone 12 is the only model of iPhone that’s listed under this advisory, there are several other Apple devices that could cause problems with medical devices as well, including large selection of iPads and Macs.
While the risk appears to be both minimal and manageable, it’s a bit more than zero.
I recommend that you carefully read Apple’s advisory on the page I linked to above and evaluate the potential risk for yourself. If you have doubts either way it might be wise to consult with your doctor.
