Today’s Quick Tip….
Do you own or manage a business that maintains sensitive personal and/or financial information on company computers?
If so, it’s imperative that you train your employees on the importance of operational security.
Here are a few critical things to address:
- The use of strong passwords and Two-Factor Authentication
- Keeping company computers locked when not in use
- Avoiding dangerous websites while using the Internet
- Constantly being on-guard against phishing attempts
- Keeping the software on company PCs updated at all times
- Running frequent malware scans with multiple scanning engines
Always remember that it only takes one little slip-up by one employee for a hacker to gain access to your computers, financial accounts, proprietary business data and all the information you have collected about your customers.
As the recent pipeline ransomware incident proved, just one little slip-up could end up being quite costly for your company. Truth be told, it could even bankrupt your business.
