Sprint, Verizon and the other major cellular service providers are trying their best to move all of their customers from unlimited data plans to metered plans, and it probably won’t be too long before we are all lose our unlimited deals.
If you’re one of the millions of cellular customers who are already on a metered plan, you know how important it is to carefully watch your data usage in order to avoid expensive overages at the end of every month.
Luckily, there is an outstanding app that makes the task of monitoring your data usage very easy.
My Data Manager is a free app for Android and iOS devices that gives you real-time information about where your actual data usage stands at any given time. It will also show you which apps are using the most data so you can adjust their usage in order to conserve your data allowance as much as possible.
But the feature I find most useful is the Text Message Alert that you can set up to have the app text you with a heads-up when your data usage reaches a certain level. These alerts let you know when you need to cut back on your data usage to make your data allowance last until the end of the month.
Android users can download the app right here. If you have an Apple device, click here instead.
Bottom line: My Data Manager is a fantastic app, and I truly believe it to be the best of its kind.
