Microsoft has announced that all Office 365 subscribers will soon have unlimited OneDrive storage. The removal of the current 1TB cap is currently being rolled out to existing customers, and all users should have unlimited OneDrive storage by early 2015.
This move is in keeping with Microsoft’s stated goal of transitioning from being primarily a software vendor to a major player in the “online services” industry.
OneDrive storage is now tightly integrated into virtually all of Microsoft’s products, and the company is betting that unlimited cloud storage will make those products even more competitive with those of the competition.
If you are a current subscriber to Office 365, you’ll be receiving your free OneDrive upgrade within the next few months. If not, you can get a great deal on an Office 365 subscription at Amazon.
