Apple’s Macbook Pro line of laptops are considered by many to be the cream of the crop because of their unique blend of power, durability and ease of use.
Well, the New 13″ Apple MacBook Pro (#ad) is no exception.
This sleek, yet powerful machine has plenty to offer in a 13 inch laptop.
The CPU, RAM and amount of SSD storage vary by model, but the device I tested came with the following:
- 8th-Generation quad-core Intel Core i5 2.4 GHz Processor
- Brilliant 13.3 inch Retina Display with True Tone technology
- Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655
- 8GB RAM
- 256GB SSD
- Four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports
- Touch Bar and Touch ID
- 802.11ac Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth 5.0
- Up to 10 Hours Battery Life
As you can see, there’s plenty to love here.
As with all MacBooks, this one is absolutely beautiful in its design and craftsmanship.
It’s also extremely ergonomic with a screen that’s bright, sharp and crystal-clear. And as expected, the keyboard is simply perfect.
All in all, I came away very impressed with this machine.
I did have a bit of trouble getting the machine to connect to the Wi-Fi network initially, but once the connection was established it remained rock-solid, and subsequent connections were made quickly and automatically.
As someone who prefers larger screens, I wasn’t quite sure how I would like the 13.3″ screen in this particular MacBook Pro, but I actually found it enjoyable to use.
If portability is of great importance to you, I believe this size screen will serve you quite well. That being said, you might want to opt for the 15 inch model if you don’t carrying around a slightly larger laptop.
As far as performance goes, I was pleasantly surprised at the speed at which it loads web pages in the native Safari browser.
When loading the same websites, this Macbook Pro served pages faster than a similarly equipped Windows laptop that actually had more RAM.
I also found the menus to be very responsive while digging around through all the various settings and options.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for a new laptop that’s powerful enough to get most any job done quickly, small enough to comfortably carry around and durable enough to last well past the warranty period, I believe this new 13 inch MacBook Pro is worthy of serious consideration.
